When heading out on the road for a delivery, it’s important you have all the right gear – and use it in the correct way!
Getting your thermal bags ready
Thermal bags are how we ensure that our restaurant partners’ food stays hot and tasty during the delivery process. As such, they are a vital tool of the trade that all restaurant partners expect you to use.
It’s important that you position the bag correctly on your ebike or bicycle. If you do not, this will affect the load distribution on your bike which may affect your ability to manoeuvre and brake safely. Lieferando offers thermal delivery backpacks specifically designed for riders. These also have the ability to be fixed to your vehicle.
If you are using it as a backpack – make sure that the straps are firmly tightened so that there is no space between the bag and your back. Failure to do so can result in the load shifting in an uncontrolled manner whilst turning.
If you are fixing it to your ebike or bicycle– make sure that it is firmly secured and does not shift. Failure to do so can result in the load shifting in an uncontrolled manner whilst turning or the bag dislodging.
Loading your thermal bag correctly
When loading your thermal bag, it’s important to make sure it’s packed properly. When it is packed unevenly it can shift around and impact your ability to balance while riding.
To pack your thermal bag, place heavy items at the bottom of the bag, and stack up until the lightest items are on top. Remember to always separate hot food from cold items where possible, to ensure that food quality is not affected – customers should have the best possible ordering experience.
Setting up and using your mobile phone
Mobile phones are your portal to the Lieferando platform – though they can be a significant distraction if they are not used properly. It’s recommended that you use a mobile phone cradle, fixed at a visible point if you intend on using it for GPS guidance, and should not be adjusted at any stage whilst you are riding.
You should pull over in a safe place and make sure your bike is stationary before using your phone or the Lieferando Courier App – remember, we never want you to accept a job or access your phone whilst you are riding!
